Ride Before The Storm
Went out for a ride on Monday the last day of the month before the storm and had some pretty good riding conditions. I started from Sebago Cove and crossed 114 to check out the condition at Sebago Lake, as you can see from the picture below it is frozen but in rough shape from riders trying to ride through the slush.
From there I headed over to Long Lake where the trails on the west side of the lake are in great shape. Long Lake is better for riding now as most of the slush has frozen now and sled traffic has smoothed things out a bit. The trail from the redemption center on the east side of the lake, to the juggs town trail was pretty rough, but once on the juggs town trail everything got much better.
From juggs town trail to the power lines to Quaker Ridge were all in great riding shape. Did not see anyone on the trails except for Tyler from Windham who is in the picture below, and he told me the trails heading back to Raymond were in rough shape.
Headed back down and got gas at Tommys and rode down through Brays and the Tiki Bar on 302 which was also in good shape and got a nice sunset shot getting back on to Long Lake. I added a few photographs below so you can see the conditions and I will be going out today (Friday 2-4-11) after lunch to see how things look, and will make a post later.
